More specifically, what makes Palm Beach & Martin County so special?

While most people know that S. Florida has nice winters, they may not realize how nice they really are. Our average winter highs are in the mid-70s and the lows hardly ever dip below 55 degrees. In fact, West Palm Beach doesn’t average a single below-freezing night in the wintertime. We are usually about 5-10 degrees warmer than Orlando and the west coast of Florida because the Gulf Stream breezes keep us warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. We have the beautiful weather of our famous neighbor Miami without the horrible traffic and the “seemingly endless sea of humanity”. We have a nice international airport that connects to most major northern cities (with multiple flights daily) and it’s “international” because you can jump to the Bahamas in less than an hour. Besides having many beautiful beaches, Palm Beach County has more golf courses than any other county in the country and is home to the Honda Classic tournament and the headquarters of the PGA. Please Enjoy this great video: Jack Nicklaus and other golf pros gush about living in North end of Palm Beach County (Jack Nicklaus, Ernie Els, Ricky Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Camilo Villegas, and Daniel Berger)

Other advantages of living in Florida are that Florida has NO state income tax, NO estate tax or inheritance tax, AND it doesn’t tax Social Security or other retirement income either. Plus, those benefits are pretty secure: Florida ranks fifth in the country for fiscal soundness, according to a recent report from the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, in large part due to its abundance of cash versus short-term liabilities.
